Two new launches for 2010

Two new journals launched by MA Healthcare this autumn continue the company's tradition of introducing new journals for under-served sectors of the health professions.

The Veterinary Nurse is a peer-reviewed journal for veterinary nurses and veterinary assistants. Published 10 times a year, it will bring together original research, clinical reviews and updates, professional issues and topical comment in an accessible but authoritative format.

International Journal of Ophthalmic Practice is a bi-monthly, peer-reviewed journal for ophthalmic nurses, orthoptists and allied health professions working in ophthalmology. It will provide a forum for groups of professionals who have few opportunities in the current ophthalmic press to share research and best practice.

Both journals, launched in October 2010, boast editorial boards drawn from the cream of their respective professions. Liz Branscombe, Consultant Editor of The Veterinary Nurse, is Chair of the VN Council at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, while International Journal of Opthalmic Practice has three Consultant Editors: Janet Marsden, Professor of Ophthalmology and Emergency Care at Manchester Metropolitan University; Helen Gibbons, research practitioner at City University and Moorfields Hospital, London; and Lene Martin, Associate Professor and senior lecturer at St Erik's Eye Hospital and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.
