The Mark Allen Group, an independent publishing group with over 40 titles in healthcare, education and business-to-business, has acquired the fortnightly magazine Children & Young People Now from Haymarket Business Media.
The only dedicated magazine for professionals working with children, young people and families, encompasses childcare and early years, education, health, social care, youth justice, and youth work; Children & Young People Now will add significantly to Mark Allen Group's health, education and business portfolio.
Chief executive Mark Allen said: "I am delighted that we managed to persuade
Haymarket to part with such an excellent title.
It has a committed and passionate team and a hugely accomplished editor
in Ravi Chandiramani who is well known and respected in the field. Certainly,
we will look after the title and do everything we can to make it even more
successful.
This acquisition feels to me like a coming home. I started my career in magazines 37 years ago as the launch editor and then the publisher of Community Care, which is published by Reed."
The sale of the title was completed for an undisclosed sum on October 19, 2011 and the magazine will be based in Mark Allen Group's head office in south London.
