BJM gives away £20,000

Judging is currently underway to pick two winners for the Innovating for Life research grants. BJM has teamed up with Cow & Gate and Infant magazine to launch the initiative (www.innovatingforlife.co.uk) which will provide two grants of £10,000 to the winning midwifery and neonatal teams.

The campaign has been launched to seek out examples of innovation and creativity within maternity and neonatal teams and to improve the care of infants. Development of state-of-the-art equipment, pioneering techniques and progressive working practices help to improve care on a daily basis. To this end the judges are looking for innovative projects that have helped to improve maternity care but could be better developed if there were funds available - always in short supply within today's NHS.

Hopefully we will find some deserving winners and look to follow their progress developing services which could make a real difference to maternity care.
