Mark Allen is the chairman of the Mark Allen Group, which he founded in 1985, having bought two medical magazines in a management buyout. Today the group has more than 60 magazines in different sectors – healthcare, B2B, music and leisure – and is actively involved in exhibitions, conferences and travel. Mark is a visiting professor of Richmond, the American International University in London and is an ‘ambassador’ for the homeless charity, Alabare.
Ben Allen is the CEO of the Mark Allen Group. Ben joined the Mark Allen Group in 2005 as Commercial Director, following a career as a solicitor at Linklaters and U.S. law firm Hunton & Williams. He has held several management positions at the Group, including MD of MA Education, MD of MA Healthcare and Chief Operating Officer, before he became CEO in April 2012.
COO / MD MA Business
Peter began his career as a production engineer in the automotive industry. He joined Findlay Publications in 1987 where he held various
editorial and publishing roles. Peter led Findlay into the world of data marketing, electronic and online publishing.
He became a board director in 2000 and CEO in 2004. In 2008 he became CEO of the restructured Findlay Media before its acquisition by the Mark Allen Group.
MD MA Education
Matt joined MA Education in 2002 when this part of the group was in its infancy with only two publications in its portfolio. Since then Matt has held various sales and management positions and is currently a group board director with responsibility for the education business including its magazine and books publishing portfolio and its growing events operations.
MD MA Healthcare
Jon Benson has been the Managing Director of MA Healthcare since 2014. Jon joined the Mark Allen Group in 2004 as sales executive of SecEd. Since this time, Jon has worked in management roles in several areas of the Group, including as Group Commercial Director, which involved Jon managing the integration of all new brand acquisitions into the company.
MD MA Exhibitions
Ed held a series of senior management roles across Miller Freeman, Centaur and Informa before joining Findlay in 2008. As a founding director of Findlay Media, Ed worked across the portfolio of print and online products, launching its award winning exhibition business in 2012. Since the acquisition of Findlay in 2013, Ed has been a member of the Group Board, executive director of MA Business and now Managing Director of the newly created MA Exhibitions.
MD George Warman Publications UK Ltd
Stuart began his career in publishing in 1984 working on business titles for United Trade press then Maxwell Business Communications.
After a two year break from publishing he resumed his career in 1991 at the Hemming Group working as The sales manager then director on the weekly local government titles The MJ and Surveyor as well as publisher on the monthly titles in the stable. In 2000 he Joined George Warman Publications as publishing director then continued as managing director from 2002 until its acquisition in 2015 by the Mark Allen Group.
Katina joined MAG in 1989 having previously worked at the BBC. She has been involved in various aspects in publishing and event organisation during the group's development. As HR and Operations Director, Katina takes an active role in supporting the management team in the selection, development and engagement of team members as well as the facilities and operational requirements of the group.
MAG Financial Director
Brian joined the Mark Allen Group in October 2001 when they purchased their head office in Herne Hill London and launched an office furniture & interiors company. Brian worked as an accountant for this division as well as A&D Media. In 2005 Brian became chief accountant for the group before moving into his current position of Group Financial Director in 2012.
